Callout & Interaction Refinements

We've heard your feedback regarding the increasing number of units responding to callouts, which has made responding difficult as calls are often resolved by the time you arrive. To address this, this minor update introduces Callout Assignment: calls are now only received by the closest available units to the callout location, with the total number of players per callout determined based on the severity of the call.

Low priority calls (e.g. broken down vehicle, public intoxication) are assigned to fewer units, while higher priority callouts like bank robberies or active shooters are dispatched to a larger group for an appropriate response.

Update 1.1.1 also introduces a few general improvements and smaller changes — including scroll-wheel navigation for the interaction menu and a refreshed chat display. Check out the full changelog below for more details!

Callouts

  • Reworked callout assignment
    • Callouts are now only sent to the nearest available players to a call within each zone, and the total number of players per callout is determined probabilistically depending on the severity of the call (e.g. code one calls require only two responders, whereas code three calls can assign up to six)
  • (Experimental) Fixed cases where callout AI would only be visible to a single player until they were interacted with

Interaction

  • Added support for navigating the Interaction Menu using the mouse scroll-wheel while the menu is open
    • Holding Left Alt and scrolling the mouse up/down highlights available options
    • Pressing Left Mouse Button while an item is highlighted selects the option
  • Fixed an issue where the interaction menu would redraw fully when the interaction target did not change

Chat

  • Updated the visual display of chat messages to better conform to message contents, with contextual icons
    • Chat messages now support colors for certain message types (e.g. radio)
    • Added an option in chat settings to toggle chat colors

Characters

  • Fixed a case where character names would have an extra space between their first and last name
  • Fixed an issue where the maximum length of character names would allow exceeding the set limit

Miscellaneous

  • Added various features and improvements to support moderation and administration duties for staff members
